Dinner Guests at St James the Less. This project of assisted portraits took place for regular users of the Open Space service who could come for a free meal once a fortnight, mainly used by a regular group of predominantly male rough sleepers. This was a collaboration between the guests and myself, where they would choose how they wanted to be photographed within the church, using lights and a medium format film camera creating a kind of formality to the process of making the portrait. Each week I would take in the prints and we would discuss them and take new ones. A few people took polaroid photographs themselves.
